I don’t think they’re a waste of time but I also don’t think you should be set on thinking that’s the person you’ll marry. It’s good to have relationships and find out what you like and learn to be in one with someone but it’s pretty rare you see people marry their “high school sweetheart” these days

It depends how mature you and your S/O is really. Some high school relationships last and others don’t, it’s just the way life is.

Is the person you date in high school the person that you should be with forever? Most likely not. 
But that doesn’t mean it’s not worth it! I learned so much about myself through the people I dated when I was younger and I think that it prepared me for a “grown up” relationship later

Me and my boyfriend met in high school & started our relationship while still in high school. It will be our 3 year anniversary in April and we’re very happy. Even if it doesn’t end up working out, which I doubt, I will forever be grateful for our time together and everything we’ve taught each other 😊

sometimes highschool relationships last a long time.
and even if they dont work out in the long run you can learn so many valuable lessons about who you are and what you want in a relationship. its better to make mistakes in highschool and then learn from them so when you get older you know how you should be treated and you dont make those same mistakes.

I feel like it’s best to have your heart broken in high school rather than when you’re in college or on you own. After me & my FL broke up i completely lost myself. I couldn’t have afforded to do that had i been out on my own. Plus high school relationships can teach you what you do & don’t want in a relationship so you don’t waste your time when your older
