If your flatmate arrived first and took the better room would you be mad?

So I'm sharing a flat with my friend and I arrive first to the place. My friend arrived 3 weeks after I arrive. I thought that whoever comes first get to pick the room.
If my friend came before me I would let her choose the room. But in this case she was angry that I took the bigger room. It doesn't look that much bigger since both rooms look similar.
So ladies if you were in this scenario would you be mad? What should I do?

I don’t see the point in discussing, cause how exactly would that have went? There would be no common ground met as to who deserved/needed/wanted the bigger room more ... unless you did what I did when I had a roommate, whoever wanted the bigger room had to pay $25 more a month. 
Seems like a “you snooze you lose” type of situation.

I don't know what a discussion would have even really achieved? By what you've said it probably would've turned into an argument with her anyway. 
She got there a whole 3 weeks later, she gets what she gets. I'm sure she would've done the same

Did you both view the place together beforehand? Wasn't it discussed then?

Other than it being slightly bigger is there anything else "better" about the room you chose? That's definitely something you guys should have talked about instead of making assumptions, but one of you would have gotten the room one way or another. If it is significantly bigger or has it's own bathroom (and the other doesn't) or another else major, I would probably expect you to pay a little more in rent. Otherwise I would just talk to her about it. Apologize for making the assumption that you could choose your room since you were there first, maybe just acknowledging that you should have talked to her first will help smooth things over. 🤷

If she knew you were moving in 3 weeks before her and didn’t discuss it with you then obviously you just get to choose. She couldn’t have thought you’d be sleeping in the living room until she got there? She should get over it

When i did a flatshare, all the rooms (3)were different sizes, so every 4months we'd do a room swap 😂
