Potty training boys?!🤔

Question

My son is 15 months old, I know he’s in no way ready to be potty trained. I bought the little seat in the picture for the simple fact that it was on sale at target lol. I put him on it to see how he’d react! 
My question is when did you start potty training your little boy(s)? What worked or didn’t work? I’m in no way going to rush it but I’d like to start before he’s two if he starts showing signs 🙂

I was the nanny of a little girl who was 100% day time toilet trained by 18 months and 95% night time toilet trained by 24 months. 
If he is happy to sit on the potty now, stay potty training him.

That is not much younger than my step son started. He saw his cousin who is a year older and showed interest. We got him a seat that sets on the big toilet and he did great! Was practically in underwear when at dads. Till dad mentioned to mom how well he was doing! He the very next visit was nervous about going potty, this for us really slowed his training. (I have trained many in my past aunt of 30+ and was a nanny)
My experience is as long as there is interest go with it! Don’t push! As he grows there are certain nerve developments that take place that work to the training advantage. Good luck

My daughter was potty trained at 15 months, by 17 months she no longer used a nighttime diaper and would scoot her little potty chair across the bathroom to climb up.  I totally though I had this parenting thing down. My son was 3 1/2 before he was potty trained and he needed a nighttime diaper for wetting until 6.  Both healthy and happy now. By experience and by word of mouth I hear boys are typically later anyway! My “parenting crown” fell but I don’t regret not putting pressure on him to get it quickly, it won’t be a time saver anyway in fact quite the opposite.  With this third if she’s interested I will show her if she’s late like my son I’m going to be fine with that too.

I was a nanny and they did not start potty training their son until he was about two. I felt they could have started earlier because he would always go hide behind the curtains when he was pooping. If he is that conscious of having to go then he was ready to be potty trained.

My son just turned 2.5 and he just got super into the potty. He also just became super aware of a dirty diaper.  Our pediatrician told us to try and not pressure him too much, if he’s interested and wants to get on the potty let him. We’ve pretty much followed her advice and he has gone pee on the potty when he wanted to get on. Problem was he still wasn’t motivated enough since he could care less just 3 months ago if he was sitting in poop and pee, now he pulls down his pull up himself.  Watch for cues, eventually I feel like as a mom you just know the time is right!

When I worked in a nursery most of the girls were ready before boys but it completely depends on you your son and when your comfortable
