When do you tell your boss?

I am TERRIFIED to tell my boss, I’m only 5 weeks but my kids are at my work before school and I’m so afraid they’re going to spill it. I’ve only been there 3 months and am officially receiving my contracted position next week.... my first appt is March 4- should I say nothing and let him notice? Tell him after my first appt? Or after my first trimester? What would you say if the kids end up spilling it first???

I told my boss at 5 weeks. I wanted to give her a heads up in case I got really sick and wasn’t acting myself. I also wanted to let her know about my appointments ahead of time since I have 3 in March.

I did around 6 weeks but I was blessed to work in a very supportive female dominated work place. She gave me a hug and said she already knew I was.

I’m a stay at home mom but I can relate to the kids issue. I didn’t want to share with our 4 year old until day of first ultrasound and my husband was really sad we couldn’t; so we did to please him. We told her to keep the secret and I’m always reminding her since she has visitation weekends with his mom and grandparents to see her mom. And we visit my family a lot. She’s already snuck hints to EVERYONE! I have to pull her to the side and say what did I tell you before we got here😂 and play it off like she’s just 4 and it’s just her wishing. Thankfully my family knows I have had irregular periods so when she told my sister that I have clear blue test they thought nothing of it😂 kids! Not the ones to tell first sadly😂

I told one of my bosses already and purposely avoid my boss in another building. They both know I was going through ivf so they have both been keeping tabs on me every month.
I though am a tenured teacher and have job protection. 
I dont plan on telling a sole (other than them if they guessed) until 12 weeks.

I told my boss yesterday, but I do have the severe morning sickness HG so I had too, I was scared as well but usually legally speaking they can’t fire you or anything for being pregnant as it is discrimination. I would say atleast wait as long as you can unless you have severe morning sickness or anything that may need accommodations

I would wait until your first trimester is over unless you have bad morning sickness. Then it would make sense to let them know what’s going on so they can make accommodations if needed. Praying your work receives this news well!!

I told my kiddos not to tell anyone that we can’t tell people until I’m 12 weeks just Incase mommy or the baby get sick before then. I’m also not a panning in telling my boss until I’m out of my first trimester.
