Stop weaning

My LO is 5 months old and I thought he was ready to start weaning. He can sit up with a steady head, and can put things into his mouth and showing a big interest in us eating. I’ve tried him a couple of times on purées, but I’ve found hes still trying to suck and spitting food out.

So I dont think he is ready to wean yet. Can you just stop and continue milk for maybe a few more weeks? Or once you commit do you need to carry on?
