Anxious/Scared for Thursday

So Thursday I will be 15 weeks and confirming if our baby has gastroschisis (when the baby is born with organs outside of their belly)

I’m a nervous wreck. When I went into my NT Scan at 11w5d, she said she felt like it looked like baby did have gastroschisis BUT that all babies start with organs on the outside and they slowly tuck in. She said this normally happens by 12 weeks, so there was still a little time for it to correct itself, and that’s why she is having me come in at 15 weeks.

She didn’t seem very confident that he does definitely have it, but that she always mentions things if she thinks it’s a possibility. It was the maternal fetal medicine doctor (specialist) and not a normal OBGYN.

I hope, more than anything, that she was overly cautious and our baby boy does not have gastroschisis. I’ll find out first thing Thursday morning.
