Am I being over the top?

My baby is just beginning to walk and I'm uneasy about her walking/crawling all over the floor at her grandparents' house. Three of my siblings still live there and they all work on their cars out in the attached garage (changing oil, working on engines, painting...) and nobody ever takes their shoes off to come inside. Who knows what they're tracking inside on their shoes. I don't like shoes in the house in general but especially with a crawling/walking baby. 
Am I being over the top? Or would other moms feel uneasy about this too? 🤷🏻‍♀️

You can’t ask people to take there shoes off on in there home. That’s a little to much. In your home yes. But others no.

I had to be rushed to the ER as a baby because I swallowed a shard of plastic that fell of my dads work clothes, so it’s better to be safe.

Definitely not being over the top. She could put her mouth on the floor or her hands in her mouth and get oil or pain flakes in her mouth. Better to be safe than sorry.

It shouldn’t be a big deal for them to take their shoes off. I had people do that when my son was crawling and no one wears shoes in the gated living room.

Just make her wear mittens/shoes and long sleeves /legs Or give her a bath when she is done crawling around.
