Std testing

Hi. I want to get tested for some commons stds just to be safe, I don’t mind paying in cash cause I don’t want the charge for the lab tests to come up on my insurance. So my question is how do I schedule an apt to get tested like if I was sick I would call a walk in clinic and say hey I’m sick so would I just call and say I want to get tested for stds? Or do I just say I want to make an appointment and then talk to the doctor about it?
