HPT better then blood test at doctors?

I'm here to rant really. I'm really frustrated with my doctors, today I went to the doctors to get blood test done to confirm my home pregnancy tests. When I told them I took three home pregnancy test and they came up positive right away they told me theres no reason to confirm it with a blood test. I've had complications in the past with false positives but they still refused. I'm frustrated because I dont wont to go in to get an ultrasound done and expect to see a baby and it not be there because they refused to take the next step. Should I go ahead and set up an obgyn appointment or go find another doctor?
