3 months too early for a promise ring?

So my boyfriend of 3 months is getting me a promise ring for valentine’s day (he’s bad at surprises) and my mom and my sister are saying only being together 3 months is too early for a promise ring. I personally don’t feel it is because we are really close and serious for only being together 3 months, I feel completely comfortable with him and we talk about marriage and kids and houses together all the time. We both feel really serious about eachother. What do you think?
