When to start buying baby stuff

Im 18 weeks pregnant with my first baby and living in the uk, just wondering when would u recommend buying baby stuff?? Like the pram/ cot/ car seat etc. One of my friends said it can sometimes take about 12 weeks to get a pram ordered in?!

Whenever you want! A lot of people will wait till they know the gender to really start buying stuff. I already had a swing, bouncer, and bassinet before 20 weeks and now I’m almost 34 weeks and just now getting her travel system lol

I would say you could start looking for the pram or buy it especially if you plan to pay it like monthly until your due date. Also same with the cot and things get them out the way and you only have the small things to buy later on.

We bought our stroller and car seats (both infant and convertible) when I was around 29 weeks because they were having a good sale at Nordstrom. I ordered the glider chair around the same time because it was also on sale at Pottery Barn and it took around 8 weeks to arrive 😬 The rest of the items we bought after the baby shower, around 36 weeks, because I wanted to use my registry completion discount. 
If you’re having a baby shower, I suggest waiting to buy most items until after your shower so you can use your completion discount. If you’re not having a shower or registering anywhere that offers a completion discount, then I’d start buying everything whenever it’s on sale. No need to wait.
