To doula or not to doula?

So I'm planning a natural birth at the hospital (makes DH more comfortable) and originally I was dead set on having a doula. Today I spoke to a doula group in my area (I know its really early, they book up fast) and am suddenly finding myself turned off to the idea of a doula. Wondering if I'd be ok with just my Hubby and my aunt (my mom is not in my life so my aunt is my rock). Any other ftm planning to or have had a natural birth successfully and fufilling without a doula?

Research shows having a doula or support woman greatly increases satisfaction and reduces need for interventions and pain medication. If you don't want a doula, I would just ask your aunt to look up different ways to support birthing women.

I think we're going to go doula only because a good friend of mine is a doula. She is very comforting and this is my first baby so I really really on her help and advice. 
Had I not known her, I probably would opt not to use one.

Doula is there to support you and advocate for you.  Or in the case of my second birth, go get lattes when it’s all done (...second baby came so fast he beat the doctor).  But there’s definitely a personality element—interview a few and see who jives with you.

I think as long as you have someone who will support you and stand up for what you want you will be good. Also someone who can massage or apply pressure to help you stay comfortable during labor.
I want to go old fashioned this time...not find out gender and do unmedicated
