Gentian Violet / Ringworm Cream

Baby has thrush.

The pharmacies in my area do not have Nystatin for the baby. Its been on back order for 6 weeks.

So I called the peds back and they said use Gentian Violet. Does anyone have experience with this? The staining looks atrocious. And reading about it some of it sounds scary (coal tar?)

To add on top of that stress:

My doctor called in for my treatment but when I got there they said its an OTC medication. They came up with RINGWORM CREAM. I was like UH??? They said its the same thing... makes me incredibly nervous???

Shes 4.5 months old. While yogurt sounds great shes never had anything but breastmilk is it still ok to apply yogurt??
