Dentist while pregnant??

Question

Has anyone gone to the dentist while pregnant? I think I may have an infected tooth and I scheduled an appointment but I just found out that I’m pregnant and I’m scared about taking any antibiotics or getting my tooth pulled. Pls let me know of your experiences!

My midwife specifically recommends going to the dentist while pregnant because you’re more prone to gum disease. Just tell the dentist you’re pregnant and if you get a prescription call your doc first if you want before you take it.

Ask your doctor/midwife about it, they’ll probably give you a note or call your dentist about it. Nearly all work is okay, I got the okay to remove my wisdom teeth at any point in time.

I went and found out I need some minor work done. The dentist sent a request to my Dr to give the “Okay” for them to do the work. My Dr approved. Just make sure they know you’re pregnant. I avoided the X-rays though they say it’s safe with the lead cover.

You need to see the dentist if you think you have an infection the first place the infection will spread to is your heart... you need to go. They won’t prescribe you anything that isn’t safe.

I went last week! It’s actually recommended to see the dentist whole pregnant.  Also, you don’t want that infection to go into your bloodstream. However, the dentist will request a medical clearance from your OB.

You’re actually supposed to go to the dentist when you’re pregnant! We’re more prone to dental disease so it’s important to get checked. Just tell them your pregnant and they won’t do anything that would put baby at risk.

I was 17 weeks when I went to the dentist for my regular 6 month cleaning. They did everything they normally did, except taking the x-rays. We did that at my next appointment

Yes! I had abscess tooth when I was pregnant and I had a root canal done. You just can't have laughy gas or anything :/
