Anemia and pregnant ?

Just found out I have anemia :( what iron supplements do you guys take if anyone is anemic? I’m really scared I’ve been healthy up till now.. also is baby okay? Does it affect delivery?

I’m anemic, became very anemic when pregnant with my son. I don’t remember the brand of the iron pills I took. Baby will be fine, you may bleed a little heavy after delivery (I did) but your doctor should be aware of your anemia and be prepared for that.

The baby will be okay, just take supplements. You can take a prenatal vitamin that has a boost of iron in it (I did). It won’t effect the delivery. I’m anemic as well.

You can get an iron infusion if you need it (they inject you with iron). I had one in my third trimester due to anaemia. Eating meat & taking pills doesn’t raise your levels very quickly.

I  was anemia with my first. I took iron supplements. My doctor told me that I could bleed more during delivery and that I could end up getting a blood transfusion. Luckily I didn't need one tho (:
