I have a 20 month old daughter and we’ve been having trouble with taking her places for quite awhile. For instance, restaurants are almost always a nightmare with a few very great experiences. She normally just wants to run away and gets very loud if she’s restrained in the high chair the whole time. Even holding her doesn’t help. I should also mention she’s the physical size of a 3 year old so lots of people don’t understand how young she is. She also does not use communication well yet. She has very few words that she ever uses and simply doesn’t listen most of the time. (Her doctor won’t sign off on speech therapy or evaluation until well after her 2nd birthday). I will have another newborn right when she turns 2 so I’m frustrated since I’d like us to be able to communicate at least a little better.

Idk I’ve just been overwhelmed trying to figure out if this is ok and typical of a difficult child or if it’s bordering on another issue that needs addressed soon.

I hope I’m not coming off as just an easily annoyed mom because I love her tremendously and don’t know how to stress that her behavior is extreme and not typical compared to what I have seen from kids near her age. She does best at home and I’m just hoping for some tips to help us get out more (but safely). She runs and doesn’t listen to instruction.
