Well depending on ur states laws, i live in PA and i was told u can only dat ppl from ur age to four yrs less or four yrs older than u, so if u r 17 it would b fine here. But then again, is this person a good one, what are his intentions, does he hold something over u, is he bossy, does he have more power over you, does he actually love you and do u love him?

Legally, no this is not okay. If you guys had sex or something went down- since he is legally an adult he would get charged for rape..this is normally dependent on state law but all are about the same. 
Having a 5 year age gap isn’t bad but when you’re underage it’s looked at badly.
