Condoms and sex??!!

I am not on birth control and my boyfriend and I use condoms every time we have sex, but I started to notice that they make me dry and rub on the outside of my vagina. Could it be the latex?? I’m not allergic but maybe latex free wouldn’t dry out as much. Also maybe a good lube would help? We use our saliva most of the time but I feel like that just helps dry it out faster even more. Any advice would be great. We do foreplay for a while before sex and I’m wet, but after a while of putting it in it seems to dry out and rub, but then inside is still wet (it’s hard for me to explain lol so I hope this is good enough)
