Why don’t doctors really want to test for herpes ?

I’m not saying need to but when I mentioned it to my doctor she basically said everyone has hs1 aka cold sores I haven’t had one ever to my knowledge but why don’t they test for that if hs1 can lead to a person getting it on there genitals . Am I right ?

I mean you can always ask for it, I’ve had hsv1 my entire life pretty much. The risk of transmitting it to genitals while NOT having an outbreak is extremely unlikely. It’s not something that’s a major concern. They don’t routinely test for it because besides discomfort it doesn’t lead have any other health issues. With that being said idk how many people wanna suck dick with a cold sore cause I sure as fuck don’t those itchy little fuckers are painful I don’t even think about kissing my man while I have an outbreak. 
People are going to still have sex regardless if they have HSV1 and like your doctor said just about everyone carries it.

They will test for it if you request it and generally you have to pay for the blood test. They don’t routinely screen for it as it’s medically considered a non-threatening skin condition. You can’t treat it and it won’t kill you lol. And it’s very common.
