HSG and semen analysis

Hi ladies,

My husband and I have been trying to conceive since we got married in July. He is 44 and I’ll be 34 this year. This is both of ours first marriage and neither of us have kids. My OB thinks we’re fine but I wanted to get the ball rolling on getting things checked, as I feel like our clocks are ticking. If we need

, I’d rather get it started sooner than later. We’re scheduled for an HSG and semen analysis this Friday. First I was anxious and ready, but now I’m getting nervous. What should I expect from the aftermath of the HSG? Is it painful, uncomfortable, etc? We were planning a 1.5 hour trip away for the weekend. I’m wondering if I will be up to go anywhere. Any advice and encouragement will help. Thanks in advance.
