Will baby need a onesie under every sleeper?

Question

I’m done buying and washing baby clothes (at least through 3 months, and 6 months needs washing). But I have way more sleepers than onesies, and no plain onesies because i have considered them to be like t-shirts.
However I am now wondering if onesies are like underwear. Are babies supposed to wear onesies under everything? Obviously in the summer they’d just wear the onesie like a t-shirt, but what about the rest of the time? And what about long sleeve onesies? 
I was planning on putting baby nude in a sleeper and then swaddling or using sleepsacks. But I’m a FTM and idk what I’m doing

I assume they will have a diaper so they won’t need anything else.  I personally never put a onesie under a sleeper. Too much stuff to remove for the frequent diaper changes. I used the sleeper alone or used the little tee shirts.

People do different things. The thing to be aware of though is over heating. A lot of parents think baby needs to be bundled up super warm, but my sisters pediatrician told her he sees a lot of babys with heat rash because of this misconception. He also told her babys produce a lot of heat because of how fast they are growing. I am sure all babies are different, so the important thing is to take note of what your baby needs. With my first I noticed he was usually warm all the time, and prone to getting hot if I wasn’t careful, so I didn’t layer a lot when inside at all.

Babies do not need all of that on them at once, especially if it’s between 68-74 degrees. You’re just risking a heat rash or overheating. If baby has a sleeper on with the feet covered, that is plenty.

I never put onesies on under sleepers. Maybe in like a swaddle sack but that’s about it.

We always put a onesie under pretty much till she was 18 months but like usually to keep her warm because we kept it cold in the summer and it was cold during the winter cuz we hardly used our heat. So I mean if u don’t do it as long I would do it at least till 6 months of age

My mom said she always had a onesie under clothes, but I never did a single time with my daughter. We live in coastal GA though so it's pretty warm year round and a sleeper was always enough, even though she was born in December.

If an item of clothing has applique or stitching on the inside, I would be safe and put a onesie underneath (doesn't have to be white as long as it doesn't have any special applique or stitching) because those things can irritate baby's new skin and cause a rash! Learned this from my mother who ran a daycare for years and years! After a few months I would do it less and less but everything is so new and adjusting right when they come into the world!

I live in cold cold canada.  I am not doing the undershirt thing UNLESS it's a super cold day... and even then I cant see that happening end of March.  I plan to use the diaper shirts as a shirt... maybe put a cute vest or sweater over it but that's more for style than anything lol 
If baby is sleeping or in a swing or something I have a bunch of blankets to keep them cozy.
