Fired after disclosing pregnancy..?

Hello ladies, I have a few questions for any working ladies, I am specifically in Arizona. I was offered a new job in January. I start next week and will be 10 weeks pregnant with my 1st. When I interviewed, I was not aware of my pregnancy. I am worried that once I disclose my pregnancy, I can be fired.?
And if i dont get fired, what am I legally entitled to when it comes to time off..? I realize I am not entitled to paid time off or FMLA but can they deny the time off I need to give birth and recover and still keep my job..?
I realize it depends on the company and its policies but i would like to get an idea before I disclose to them and prepare accordingly. Any tips, knowledge or wisdom I can get would be amazing!

Legally, no business or company is allowed to fire a women for being pregnant BUT they come up with a different excuse for letting someone go which gets them away with it. Also, yeah it depends on if you get time off for birth and all and how long you have worked there. Where I live, it depends how long you have worked there if you get time off (which is stupid), sometimes. I would just tell them that you did not know at the time of getting hired.

I’m in AZ also and I was pregnant when I got hired but wasn’t aware at the time either. I waited to tell them until I was out of the first trimester just for me. My work is chill about it and my appointments. I don’t qualify for FMLA either, they don’t offer paid maternity leave and I didn’t know I needed to enroll in STD (in CA it’s auto deducted). So I will have no compensation while out. They technically don’t have to hold my position for me but are willing to. I will be taking 8weeks off.

I was in the same boat previously and I didnt tell until I was 20ish weeks pregnant and got all my appointments to give to my boss. I didnt want my pregnancy to overshadow my performance and give them any reason to fire me. But that is strictly my preference. I dont think there anything wrong with telling now, I felt guilty waiting so long because I had became friends with my coworkers, but it's what worked for me 🤷‍♀️

You could be let go when you take your leave for excessive absence. Since you have not been with the company for a year. But you won’t know what they will do u til you tell them. If they fire you due to pregnancy they can be sued.

Technically they could let you go because you don’t qualify for FMLA yet. 
I would however, just be honest when you are ready to disclose that you weren’t aware when you took the job etc and make sure you tell your boss or HR before anyone else in the office. Do it the right way and they will probably honor your unpaid time off anyway. Of course depends on the place.
