Blaming Landlady đĄ
My landlady is driving me insane! She loves putting the blame for things onto other people, more specifically me!
She changed the door locks a few months ago because I got locked inside the house one day because basically the inside of the knob had fallen apart, so the lock wouldnât turn to allow it to unlock. (She asked what I had done to cause that đ). Um, nothing, this door knob is probably older than I am!
I live in a duplex and was told last week that the landladyâs husband would be coming to check for leaks because the neighbor was having problems with his floor being wet. I told her that I was not at my house and would not be there for the next several days (housesitting for another family then out of town for my grandpaâs funeral.)
I did happen to make a trip home to take things out from under the bathroom sink like she asked. I didnât see any sign of leaking or water in the bathroom.
She said they would update me on findings of a leak and let me know when i could put my things back. I still hadnât heard anything, and I didnât see anything leaking in my bathroom, but I left all my stuff in the living room that Iâd taken out from under the sink.
Then we go without hot water for 2 days. I let her know the morning after we realized it was a problem (late at night, no hot water), and she basically asks what I did to cause it đ.
Today she finally comes to replace the water heater. I get home and my door mats are thrown to the side and the decorative insert for one of them is missing. I ask if she knows where it is. She says, âWell you can worry about that after we leave.â
They finally get done putting the hot water heater in and the door back on. Before she leaves I ask if itâs okay to put my stuff back under the sink (because itâs become rather inconvenient at this point). She says, âWell yes. I know I said I would let you know, but you should have followed up about it.â Then she says, âWell you didnât check for the leak in the hot water heater like you should have. Thatâs what caused the whole thing.â
She never asked me to check for leaks at all! I wasnât even home, and the hot water heater is very difficult to get to because of how the bathroom is designed, so I was told when I moved in not to ever mess with it.
Her attitude is very annoying to me. Unfortunately we canât move right now. Just needed to rant!
