I feel so lost and confused

Short version of this post:

I’m having so much trouble finding an affordable foundation that’s great for oily skin.

Long version:

I have really oily skin so I’ve been looking around for foundations that are good for oily skin. I’ve been looking at the cheapest ones I can get as I’m poor as hell.

Every cheap one I look up has reviews saying things like they clog pores, make people break out, clings to acne, doesn’t help lines etc. This makes them a no for me as I have many skin problems so I know these cons will apply to me. These products would become a maybe except on every single one of these another con people keep mentioning is that it doesn’t stop their skin from getting oily.

Like I said, I have very oily skin so knowing this I know they aren’t going to help me. I’ve tried a slightly more expensive one (L’Oréal true match) and even with that one I’m having to apply powder every couple of hours just to contain my oily skin, which ends up making my skin look really bad.

I did think about trying another slightly more expensive one but then even with these ones there are the same cons for people so that’s a big problem for me. I can’t afford to be gambling one that’s worth £10 or more so if I do get one at that price I need to know it’s not going to be money wasted.

The only ones that seem to actually be good are ones that are £20 or more but there’s no way I can afford that.

I was having this problem when looking up different primers too and I gave up. There are so many different products but it’s so hard to find the right ones. It’s all so confusing and overwhelming. I can’t be the only one feeling this way, can I?

If you made it through all my conflicted rambling thank you for reading.

Look for something water based not oil based. Try a bb cream and powder until you find an affordable one

Yeah there’s no way I can afford anything like Clinique. Unless I let my family starve for a couple of days but I don’t think I’ll be doing that. Lol

Ugh I know the struggle! Honestly I love The Clinique Matt finish foundation. It’s a bit more expensive than anything from the drugstore but worth it. A little goes along way it lasts me longer than drug store brands.

I believe I have only tried water based ones, including for bb creams and primers. Powder definitely helps but I’m having to apply it at least every two hours which means I end up with horrible looking skin in the end because of how much powder I’m having to used.
