So we’ve told our parents and a few of my very best friends. We asked everyone to keep it to themselves until we say it’s okay (probably around 12/13 weeks). We are also asking people to keep it off social media just in general. Neither of us use it and neither of us feel comfortable with our child on the Internet.

So a few days ago my mother tells me she told a friend. I specifically told her SEVERAL times she can not tell anyone else yet. That really upset me. Yesterday she asks if she can tell family. NO. I do not talk to her side of the family, I haven’t seen many of them in at least 20 years and I don’t care about them.

Husband and I have both expressed interest in telling her she can not tell them at all. We feel like it’s none of their business. I have a complicated relationship with my mother. I love her but she makes a lot of things about herself and doesn’t listen to our wishes often. She then will guilt you into forgiving her. It’s very frustrating and stressful.
