MIL and candy
My MIL was helping watch my 2.5 year old daughter this past week while my husband recovers from surgery and is on crutches. I always noticed my daughter was more naughty than usual on the days when my MIL watched her but didn't know why. My husband was able to observe and noticed my MIL gives my daughter candy ALL day. Doesn't eat breakfast then gives her candy, my daughter asks for candy and gets it. No naps. My husband said she ate more chocolate than regular food last week despite him constantly asking her not to give it to her.
I do appreciate my MIL's time to help with my daughter and my husband and she will be helping out this coming week too. I think this is a minor problem in the big schedule change we have going on right now. But still I want to throw out all the candy today. Although I do feel that's not fair to my daughter because she does get it as a reward from my husband and I from time to time. I'm thinking my MIL will just bring her own anyway. Any advice on how to handle this? She is litterally a 'In one ear and out the other' type of person and does what she wants.
The behavior my daughter has after this past week is hitting, biting, refusing to eat dinner, not listening and tantrums. Ya know, outside the 'normal' 2.5 year old ones lol.
