How did you feed your newborn?

If you only fed straight from breast, how long did you wait to express if you moved onto bottles?

Exclusively boob until I had such sores on my nipples 1 month in she spat up a bunch of blood so I pumped and bottle fed to give myself some time to heal for about a week. Just in case, I got prescribed some APNO during that time and that saved me! Helped everything heal right up

We went straight to boob. I began pumping immediately as instructed by the lactation consultant due to my daughters small weight and sugar issues. We didnt want her working so hard and burning more calories then she was taking in so pumping helped my milk come in fully and I syringe fed her milk before each feeding session so she didnt work as hard. We introduced a bottle to her at 5 weeks for when we need it and do 2-3 bottles a week of pumped milk.

My son had trouble latching due to a tongue tie. Until my milk came in I nursed him, then syringe fed colostrum I hand expressed. After my milk came in we nurses only, and he got his tongue tie clipped so he could latch better. I introduced a bottle around 3 weeks, after we had resolved the problems with his latch and nursing was going well.

My son was a preemie, and he got on the bottle before the boob. We had him on the boob whenever he was with me; but when he had to be with my husband or the sitter, he was bottle-fed. He always liked boobs better.

Exclusively boob until around 4 weeks then I started pumping occasionally to introduce bottles so she’d be use to them by the time I went back to work. I didn’t start pumping on a schedule until I went back to work and only pump while I’m away from my daughter during the day.

First hour of life, tried boob but I don't even remember if anything happened. Tried boob for the next few days in hospital with some issues, hand expressed by LC and fed by spoon. Eventually exclusively BF until 1 mo. Then bottle once a day by dad when he's home from work/when family visits and wants to feed her. She's two months today.
