No unfortunately. Every time I think of taking it away, something happens. Once he is over this cold I will try to take it away.

I gave it a few months with just nap, and bedtime. We had just moved cross country and didn’t want to give her a complete shake up. After she turned 2 i said night time only. Then in March I prepped her all day saying it was all gone. The first couple days were super hard, but it was successful. Although now she can’t sleep without me. 🤦‍♀️ Good luck Mama!

Yes. She is developmentally delayed and has sensory issues. It's her comfort item when she's having a meltdown.

He never liked em from the beginning

Out of sight out of mind for my son. We put a hard stop right after his second birthday.  We watched a Sesame Street episode about bye bye binky, made a big deal about gathering them all up, and then told him the “binky is in the garbage”.
It sounds harsh but he’s OBSESSED with garbage trucks and throwing stuff away so it worked for him.  He still says “binky in garbage” sometimes but doesn’t ask for them.

Our daughter never really used one. I think she used it maybe twice as a pacifier the rest of the time if she finds one she just plays with it and chews on it. Haha

Just took it away last week. We lost both of them and he knew they were lost. When I found them I didn't let him see them and just tossed them. It was really sad tbh. His first heartbreak. But he's over them now

When he turned 2, we got more strict about only letting him have it around nap and bed time. Our pediatrician told us at his 18 month visit to get rid of it, but he’s so attached and we don’t have the heart to take it away completely lol. I’m looking for tips to help him ease off of it though. We started by getting an Elmo dvd called “bye bye pacifier” and we also found a little kid book about a pig who is giving up god pacifier. We are trying to tell him he’s a big boy now and he doesn’t need it anymore. I just don’t have the heart to get rid of it. 😟

We ended it at 18 months.  She only used it for naps and sleeping so it wasn’t hard to break the habit.  She was never one to have it in her mouth all day long.  We just quit cold turkey and by 3 days she was good.

We started for only nap and bedtime a month ago. Was worried that she would not he happy about it because she used it all the time and would ask for it if she couldn't find one but she has done well. In the morning she gives it back no arguments. Hoping in the next month to drop it completely.
