Diaper exchange?

I got tons of diapers like Huggies and Pampers at my baby shower but I am a bit of a crunchy mom and wasn’t planning on using either brands. 
I use Cloth Diapers or biodegradable ones and neither brand is. 
Someone said I can return them but I don’t know where they are bought. Can I go to Walmart without a receipt? Or target?  What to do?

Do whatever makes you comfortable. You aren’t obligated to follow any ones opinion. Target I know will exchange it for you

Just curious, why not use them since you have them? Not like you spent any money on them and they are both really good brands. 
I only ever exchanged diapers if the specific brand wouldnt work (gave a rash or leaked.) I was thankful for the diapers I had received. 
I wasn't sure where the diapers from my shower were purchased but I took them to Walmart and asked. They said as long as that particular pack was sold by them, they would allow exchanges. I never needed a receipt and they know that most diapers are a gift and you wouldnt have one anyway.

Can’t be picky when babies are already super expensive. I would just use them unless you know your baby will have a reaction to them

Some Walmart’s Allow exchanges without a receipt but they put the money on a gift card because there’s no proof to look up receipts or that it was bought at that store.

You might be able to look up the barcode online and where it was purchased. I just ended up bringing the few I didnt use to babies r us (when they were around) and target. They scanned each one and said if was from them or not and they gave me a gift card. That was fine for me since I was going to buy some other stuff from them anyways.

If Walmart won’t take them you could take them to a crisis centre or woman’s shelter
