Epidural?

Anyone know of a good pain reliver besides getting an epidural during labor?

There are options to take the edge off although I don’t know the name of them but not really anything else i can think of that will take it away

The gas did nothing for me. I was told Demerol also does nothing but I didn’t try it.

Laughing gas or low dose epidural?

Answer

They can give you a spinal block, fentanyl through IV, or in some areas laughing gas is being used again.

There are IV pain relievers but they will cross the placenta. Some places do a low dose epidural - my hospital did not. I personally didn’t mind not feeling my legs. I ended up needing a c-section anyway.
