Toddler spits out food randomly. Is this normal?

I have a 17 month old that loves to eat but she’ll randomly walk up to us with food in her mouth and spit it out. Is this normal for that age or is she just misbehaving?

My kid does that all the time. I don't think it's behavior... I just think it's because he didn't like that bite or would rather have his milk... or maybe just cause he is a toddler! 🤷🏼‍♀️

My son has just started doing this. It’s almost like he chews all the flavor out of the food then spits it out. He can do this for a complete meal. It’s so odd.

My son just did this last night lol. I made a salmon dish and he tried it which is definitely a plus because he’s rather picky, but I guess he didn’t like it so he chewed it a bit and then spit it into my hand. I just made him something he enjoyed instead . My husband and I were just glad he gave it a try 🤷🏾‍♀️.
