Gestational diabetes at 29 weeks

I keep seeing that the 1 hr glucose test should be done between 24 and 28 weeks. My doctors waited until I was just 2 days shy of 29 weeks and I failed with a 171. Then I had to wait to get the second 3 hour one done. Now I’m going to be almost 30 weeks by the time I get these results. If they come back that I have gestational diabetes then I feel upset that they waited so long to test me when I could have gotten this under control weeks ago. Other people I know were tested around 25 weeks. Is this still normal to be past 28 weeks. I feel really upset with my doctor about this and just want to hear about other people’s experiences.

They did mine around that time and mine was 202?? And I took my 3 hour 3 times Bc I kept throwing it up. So I had to just text my blood sugar everytime I ate for 2 weeks until my next apt . Then they told me to change my diet so I did that for another 2 weeks and it was still super high so at 37w exactly they called me and told me to go to the hospital to get induced . I was never on medication and my BS was 150 fasting and 200-300 after meals

I’m 24+1 and my doctor hasn’t even mentioned it yet. You’re supposed to get it done between 24-30 weeks

We test later here. It's between 28-30 weeks I think 🤔

If the numbers are crazy high and there is an indication that it occurred earlier in pregnancy it's obviously not good, but that's rarely the case. If you're worried about the effect it might have on your baby now that the one hour test was a bit high, I would just be more focused on food and exercise 😊 When mine was discovered I got an a extra scan and she was just below average in size and at my follow up scan it looked like she followed that growth curve just fine. So if you're worried, avoid fat and sugary food and remember to exercise a bit 😊

Really? It’s not considered dangerous when a woman is diagnosed that late in the pregnancy? I’m a person who tends to worry a lot so I’m just anxious about the effects this would have already had on the baby and myself.
