Gender by blood test?

Has anyone got a blood test done before and be accurate or not be accurate by the sonogram ? I’m 13 weeks and wanna do a blood test but I heard sometimes it isn’t accurate.

The one through the doctor is almost 100% accurate. (The NIPT test). Sneak peek, however, is totally inaccurate. It’s one you buy and do at home. I’ve never heard of one being wrong through the doctor, but I’ve heard of many being wrong through sneak peek.

The ones thru the doctor office are like 98-99% accurate. I had one with my son and it was correct.

It is supposed to be accurate but i had it done at my doctors at 14 weeks and was told a boy. 3 weeks later we paid for ultrasounds to get pictures for a reveal and it was a girl. And then 20 week ultrasound confirmed girl.

The actual blood test for genetic conditions are always accurate. Its the at home test (sneak peek) that can easily be contaminated and not accurate.

Blood tests are more accurate than an US. US are up for interpretation, blood doesn’t lie. I got a blood test at 10 weeks and it said boy. My son is now 6 weeks old.

Bloods is very accurate as it is seeing if the y chromosome (boy) is present in your blood or not. Ultrasound is interpreting a picture which may or may not be clear and properly developed.

Honestly it takes at least a week to get results, at this point you’re better off just asking for gender when you get an U/S done because they can usually tell by at least 15/16 weeks
