How does pitocin feel like?

I was on pitocin for 15 hours with no epidural and it starts off fine but after a while it felt like the worst pain of my life.

On it for 19+ hours. No contractions prior. Slight, steady, manageable contractions the first 8 hours. Intense contractions at 12 hours. Got an epidural after that. I was still able to move my legs and feel a little tingling with the epidural, but no pain. It was amazing. Wish I had gotten it a little sooner to save some of my energy....I was needlessly exhausted after several hours of intense contractions (with several hours yet to go).

For me I was given pitocin with my 1st at 730a and had unbearable contractions by 930a and an epidural by 10-1015a had my son at 219p with 20 min of pushing.

I had pitocin with my last labor because I was not progressing after my water broke. It brought on some very intense contractions but I had an epidural and after it kicked in I did not feel pain.

It’s something that you don’t want to experience if you can avoid it. I was on pit for 24 hours with my last. Got the epidural after 13 hours of hell and it only worked for about 30 minutes. Definitely get the epidural once the contractions really start to kick in!

I was on pitocin for 6 hours before doctor broke my water and I didn’t feel it did anything. They said I was having contractions but I didn’t really feel them (felt like Braxton Hicks where my stomach just got tight). It wasn’t until my water broke that I felt anything

I was on pitocin for 15 hours but very small contractions until they broke my water. After they broke my water it was hell on earth. Until they gave me an epidural. It was fine until the epidural wore off on my left side
