Hey everyone!

We have a swaddling problem.

Our 1 month old loves to sleep with his hands near his face but cannot do so if he is not being held.

When left alone, his startle reflex freaks him out and he goes into spazzy jazz hands that keep him awake.

He sleeps very well being swaddled with his hands at his side but if he wakes (for whatever reason) he fights his swaddle and breaks out until his hands are near his face.

Of course when this happens he wont sleep...

He fights and grunts to defeat even tightly placed velcro swaddles. Blanket swaddles have absolutely no chance.

We tried an “arms up” swaddle but he still gets startled and hates that he cannot relax his hands (so he doesn’t sleep well in them at all).

Any advice!?
