We have chosen a girls name which we love! But the initials spell out HOR (like whore), should we change the name because of this or does it not matter?? We really love the name!

Actually, now-a-days most people do monograms with the last initial in the middle so it would be HRO, with the H and O being smaller than the R, so, I don't think monogramming would be a problem! I say use the name!

The only reason it could matter is if you're into monogramming. 🤷 But if you love the name and don't mind forgoing displaying initials, then it doesn't.

My parents said when they were choosing our names that they also looked at the initials - they wanted it to look professional if we ever wanted or needed to sign our initials instead of full name.  They took that into consideration for the whole name, name with middle initial only.  Amongst other considerations too of course.

I think it’s worth changing. Kids have enough to deal with when they’re going through school, so personally I wouldn’t give her peers an easy way to make fun of her. Kids are relentless (and mean) and I really think they won’t let her live that down lol
