My mom was horrible and I was pretty young and didn’t have my shit together but had a plan to. I told her when I was around 9 weeks. She cut me out of her life after my son was born so this time around I haven’t directly told her or invited her to the baby shower. It’s all about your relationship with them.

Depends on the mom.  My mom will bitch about it because she’s disappointed every time one of her kids announces they’re pregnant despite the fact that we’re all in our 30s.  So I’ll tell her when I feel like dealing with her negativity, which will be sometime in the second trimester.
