Today i went to my first ultrasound. YESTERDAY, I went to confirm pregnancy. Receptionist scheduled to have my ultrasound for today. According to my last missed period, I’m 5 weeks today so I thought it was odd that the lady would schedule me so early for an ultrasound. I go today and my doctor FREAKS out because he didn’t find anything in my uterus or Fallopian tube.. so he sends me to our local hospital because he thinks it’s ectopic.. i go to the labs in the hospital and draw blood for hCG levels. We get back to the OBGYN and he says he thought I was 8 weeks (because that’s when you’re supposed to go for first ultrasound but receptionist scheduled for today anyways) but I’m really 3-5 so that’s why he freaked out so bad about not seeing a fetus.

My hCG levels are 375. Is that normal? Or low? He told me not to worry too much but I’ll be going back for another blood test on Friday to see if hCG levels went up. Your opinions? This is my first pregnancy. Do you think I should prepare myself for loss or do you think it was a big misunderstanding? He sounded very positive when we left but today was horrific.
