Frustrating parents!
I live next door to my Mum so she knew I was pregnant pretty early in the process. I wanted to monitor who I told, like keeping it to parents, close friends and co-workers when necessary so I didn't have to go back and tell the whole world if there were complications. I was waiting until 12 weeks. My mother on the other hand has been spreading the word. I've had multiple conversations with her about how it's not ok to tell everyone, but she's managed to tell lots of people I didn't want her to tell including my siblings (a few reasons including mental health - my sister has terrible depression and would be devastated if I lost). Mum also posted about it on Facebook on my aunty's status tonight, and I'm still only 11 weeks. It's frustrating as hell but she keeps saying "It's my baby too" and "James has told people!" (Of course he has, he can, he's the father...) And that she's excited so it's ok. I love that she's excited but I just feel like she's already overstepping the simplest of boundaries! 🤦♀️
