Did you give Tylenol after vaccines if your baby had a fever?

I was just told in a post after asking about the mmr shot that I shouldn’t give my son Tylenol after his shots because it can lead to autism?? Anyone else heard this??? New mom so don’t roast me please

Medications and vaccines do not cause autism. The only think I’ve ever heard about Tylenol is not to give it unless it’s actually needed for a fever because it can mask a reaction to the vaccine.

My kids have just not a high enough fever with shots to need Tylenol. But whoever told you this is a dick.

You should try to wait at least 24 hours after the shots before doing Tylenol (if at all). Babies develop fevers which is a normal reaction. This is their body’s way of building immunity to the virus for which they have been vaccinated. If you give them Tylenol while their bodies are fighting the vaccines, it will effect their level of immunity towards such viruses in the future. Fevers are absolutely normal just not fun :( Make the pain of the shots worth it for them in the long run and push through it! They should feel better after a day or two. If the fever gets up to 102 and is still creeping higher, a fever reducer is necessary.

🤦‍♀️ whoever told you this is a grade A  moron. You can absolutely give Tylenol. If the high fever continues, you can alternated between ibuprofen and Tylenol. We just went through this with my daughter and she had a high fever for a day so I alternated medications throughout the day to keep the fever at bay. This was recommended by her doctor

Well the first time he had his shots he had a fib seizure so the neurologist said give it to him 30 mins after his shots and then if any fever and since his mmr he has had a fever in between 99.8 and 100.7 so I just tried to make him a bit more comfortable but now I’m second guessing myself

My pediatrician said to only give Tylenol if there is a reaction like a fever or very sore. They used to just give it preemptively, but found it can somehow affect the vaccine. I honestly can't remember how it affects it, but I wouldn't want to give medicine "just in case" anyways so it works out fine for us.
