Questions about getting my tubes tied
So my husband and I have decided after this insanely rough pregnancy, that we are good having two boys and adopting if we want more kids later in life.
We went back and forth on which one of us would, well get fixed, for lack of a better word. He wanted it to be him saying I've gone through enough physically with making another baby, and I feel like since I'm already going to be on the mend from delivery, it just makes sense for me to go ahead and get it done when I have the baby.
I did some research online and saw that it's pretty common for doctors to do the surgery right after delivery. So today at my 32 week appointment I spoke with one of the doctors at my ob office about my options and what they could really do. He said they no longer do that vaginally on delivery day. So I would have to have a C-section in order to get it done that day. He said that since I already had a vaginal birth last time, he wouldn't recommend scheduling an elective C-section for me. But that if something went wrong and they had to go in that way, I could go ahead and sign the paperwork to have it done, just in case. Which I did. Otherwise he said I can come back for my postpartum checkup appointment and have my tubes done then.
Honestly I'm pretty nervous for either way that this goes down... Has anyone else had theirs done with a C-section? Has anyone had it done later? What was it like for you? Do you have any advice or insight about it?
