Braxton Hicks or the real thing?

I’m a FTM and not really sure but I have them as a high intensity because they literally take my breath away and I have to remind myself to breathe it out... I’ve been in a lot of achy pain anyways but this is so not aches.. they don’t have an exact same time between each of them so I wasn’t sure..

This happened to me a lot with my last pregnancy and I was told by my doctor to drink a bunch of water and lay down on my side to see if they would go away to see if they were real or not.

I could talk through my contractions in early labour? It wasn’t until active labour hit hard I couldn’t speak

My midwife said if you can talk and breath through a contraction it's a false one !! I know right I'm so over them telling me that hahah

I had the exact same all day yesterday so I ended up calling the birth unit they said your just in early labour it will come and go .. but the thing is my midwife has never checked me down there to see if I have even dialated . They say dont be co carnes if your water hasnt broken or mucas plug hasnt fallen out!! Like hello everyone is different and I dont want to have my baby at home on the floor because you refuse to see me

I was having a couple mild cramps last night but then they went away this has been almost all day and getting worse so I started to worry I may have something to be concerned about...

They don’t seem consistent enough to be real contractions. But I feel you gurl I’ve been having a lot of BH and at this point I just try my best to ignore them because I’m only dilated to a 2 🙃

If they don’t have a pattern it’s most likely not the real thing. Even if it is 7-8mins or whatever. But if they’re all over the place it’s most likely not “real” contractions. But the good thing is hopefully it is helping your cervix get ready! If all else, call L&D

I just didn’t wanna go in and it be nothing to worry about so I thought I’d ask some opinions first

UPDATE*** it was the real thing. I came in late last night and was 4cm im now 10cm and all set to push really but my dr forced an epidural because my pain level was so bad he worried about my mental health and baby boys health. I’m too numb to push yet so they’re letting him drop a little lower and letting me rest a little longer
