She’s Here!
2/26 I was technically 38w 5d but had my 39 week routine OB appointment. She checked for dilation and I was between 3-4 and 60% effaced and she stripped my membranes! I went back to work (apt was during my lunch) and about 2.5 hours later I started having constant back pain + contractions. I finished the last 2 hours of my shift (I actually work in Registration at the hospital we delivered at) because I was determined to not go in too early lol I went home to change. Pack bags into car as a “just in case” and headed to get checked out! 4:30pm Triage checked for dilation and I was a 4.5, sat on a ball and walked around and got up to a 5 so I was admitted.
Contractions started to be less frequent so @ 8:45pm 2/26 my Dr broke my water and the contractions became so intense and back to back. Anesthesiologist was stuck in surgery so I didn’t get the epidural until 11:30. By 12:30 a.m. I was at a 6, checked again @ 3:30am and I was an 8. 4am I started feeling the “pushing pressure” with each contraction.
After 2 contractions and 6 pushes, Nora Elizabeth was born at exactly 5am on 2/27 weighing 7# 8oz! We are so in love with her and are so excited to be home already!
