Kidney Stone at 32w Pregnant 😢
Y'ALL. I just got discharged from the hospital today after I passed my first ever kidney stone. LET ME TELL YA. I thought I was going into some intense, pre-term labor the pain was so bad. Hoooooly shat.
They sent me home last Saturday and then again Tuesday. No registrable contractions, a little bit of a cervix change, but no "labor". My back and pelvis felt like they were in a knife fight. Doctor told me to go see a chiropractor and gave me bed rest.
Wednesday at 4am I went in sobbing. These poor nurses at labor and delivery probably thought I was possessed I was moaning and rolling around so much. They gave me every pain killer known to man and I was completely out of it but finally out of pain.
They got me an ultrasound, and then x-ray, and finally could tell a stone had blocked off my left kidney and it was in full back up mode; septic-tank-catastrophe style.
11 hours after I went in for the third time they told me either surgery that night, or give me 48 more hours to pass it on my own and THANK SWEET BABY JESUS I passed it on my own maybe 30min later.
It was literally the size of a grain of rice but fuuuuuuuck me. It hurt worse than the labor and birth of our firstborn.
Pro-tip: It's not always possible to avoid getting kidney stones.....but if you do you may just want to die....because it really does hurt. That bad.... So drink lots of fluids while pregnant. Please.
