Leg and feet cramping

Courtney • Wife 👰🏾🤵🏻 💙4/15/19 💙 8/11/20 due 9/4/22

So I drink 3 to 4 liters of water a day. I drink a whole one throughout the night and yet I still have leg, foot and sometimes hip cramps. Like a Charlie horse. Most of the time I can stop them from being a full blown pain but I feel them coming and I can stop it. Does anyone else have this or know what the heck is going on? It only happens at night or in the case of my hips, if I've been sitting or laying in a strange position.

Yeah I get these too, especially at night and it happens when I stretch my calves out. What helps me a little is to not point your foot out when you stretch it, but to keep your foot straight instead, of that makes sense. I’ve read that it’s the baby laying in such a position that they’re pushing on certain nerves, causing the cramps. I also read that taking magnesium can help with it

The Charlie Horse has happened to me twice now and I rubbed them out. For the other pains/aches I added a Magnesium and Calcium supplement to my diet, I try to elevate my feet as much as possible, and I use a maternity band. Seems to be helping.

Hello. Unfortunately it’s common in pregnancy and there’s not a lot you can do about it. I find some exercise and stretching helps keep it at bay x

I get them in my calves at night if I move too quickly. Hurts like hell but I’m just assuming it’s another “fun” 3rd trimester symptom.
