Any croup momma on here?

Every year my 2yr old, instead of getting a common cold gets croup. I hate it doctor said kids usually don’t grow out of it till around the age of 10.. but are any remedies you do at home that help?

Steaming up the bathroom with the shower on hot and sitting in there really helps. It relaxes the chest muscles, and opens up the chest. Your little one will grow out of it. Best of luck.

My doctor said steam is not what you want with croup. My daughter just had it. Steam closes the throat and makes it more difficult to breathe. You can use a cool air humidifier. He said to take them outside for 20 minutes in the cold air too, just bundle them up. We also did Vick’s on her chest and we ended up having to take her in to get a steroid shot so it didn’t get worse
