Pregnancy gingivitis? (Really swollen gums!)

Sheena

It seems for me it appeared overnight and I swear I didn’t experience this symptom of pregnancy before with my now 2 year old daughter when I was pregnant with her in 2016!!! It’s so crazy how different this pregnancy is! Anyone experiencing this???

Also keep your regular dental appointments for cleaning. Some women need it more than 2x a year with pregnancy gingivitis.

It’s normal. Make sure you’re brushing and flossing (gently) and using an antiseptic mouthwash 2-3 times a day. Pregnancy can wreak havoc on your poor mouth, so make sure you’re taking care of it!

👆🏼👆🏼 She got to it before me! Lol warm salt water rinses work wonders. They make a ton of antiseptic mouthwashes sans alcohol now.

One without alcohol. You can also use warm salt water to rinse which can help with inflammation (according to my dad, who is a dentist.)

I’ve read you can only use certain mouthwashes when pregnant! do you have recommendations?
