Does sex hurt after you’ve given birth vaginally? (After you’ve been cleared & waited 6 weeks) nervous 😅

To me it felt like i was rubbing sandpaper down there for the first couple of times after giving birth, dry, uncomfortable with a little burning.

It was uncomfortable at first, but taking it slow really really helps. I had 2 first degree tears and we ended up having sex 4weeks pp. (Okayed by OB)

I’m not quite there yet, still pregnant 😂 37w 5 days, so close! Sex during pregnancy has been a huge no no since it’s been painful and uncomfortable but recently I started doing perineal massaging down there and getting more comfortable in that area it’s actually allowed me to enjoy having sex again, yay! Take it slow I guess, take some time on your own to build up some confidence and relax the area, do some massaging, might help 👍

I had a c section so I'm  not sure how your vagina would feel but I had sex 5wks postpartum after cleared by a doctor and was still a little bit sore in my pelvus area when he would thrust he had to be careful and take it more slowly

YES! I’m 4 months PP and it’s just starting to feel a little more normal. We waited 6 weeks and it HURT. I did rear pretty badly so maybe that’s why it hurt.

It finally started to feel good again around 10 months postpartum. It hurt pretty bad up until that point.

I needed PT to resolve a pelvic floor spasm and scar tissue from tearing. For me, it actually was pain free at 21 months pp. way longer than “usual” from what I understand.

It can, it just depends on the woman. I hurt me a lot and was uncomfortable for a while. Didn’t comfortably have sex for like 7 months after. But for some people they can get back to it in a few weeks.

I’ve never waited the 6 week pp recommendation but I was only in a lot of pain after my first when I tore really bad. I’m 5 weeks pp with our third and we started having sex again at 3 weeks and it was only uncomfortable the first 2 times but nothing now.

For me, sex only felt better 6 MONTHS postpartum. My OB checked and said it just took me longer to heal on the inside of my vagina.
