Bipolar Mamas, please comment.

Once I found out I was pregnant, I had to stop my medication because it’s not pregnancy safe at all. Today makes 2 weeks being off it and I’m starting to worry about a manic or depressive relapse.

(Yes I’ve talked to my doctor, just looking for personal stories)

Do/did you take medication for bipolar while pregnant? If so, what did you take?

Did you notice your symptoms got worse during pregnancy or better without meds? I’ve been told by my doctor that most women feel fine because of the hormones of pregnancy that help balance us out. So I’m curious if that’s happened for women out there.

HOW do you get over the guilt of having such a strong mental fight/taking potentially unsafe medications while pregnant? I know if the benefit outweighs the risk, it’s “fine” but my anxiety is already through the ROOF with all the testing and slight complications of this pregnancy, I’m really struggling trying to make sense of everything all together.

Any honest advice from experienced mamas or encouragement welcome. I’m trying to keep the stress low, but ya know...easier said than done.

Update: looks like I don’t have to worry about this because baby decided not to stay. Thank you all for your amazing comments. They are truly helpful.
