Swastikas aren’t funny

You might have seen in the news recently that a group of high schoolers in Orange County, CA rearranged their beer pong cups to make a swastika and took pictures.

I just don’t get it. What about a swastika is funny? The fact that millions of people died in the Holocaust? The fact that you didn’t have to die because of your religion?

I don’t know about these kids, but 2 of my great grandfathers fought in WWII to end this. One of them was a prisoner of war. Everyone in my great-great grandfather’s village in Hungary was captured and probably killed.

I saw a kid on Instagram trying to defend them, saying “oh but if you can’t laugh at the hard times...” and “it’s been like 60 years!!!” but...you’re not Jewish? So you’re basically laughing at SOMEONE ELSES pain???

And it’s been more than 60 years and unfortunately Jewish people still get murdered just for being Jewish. Look at the Pittsburgh synagogue shooting that literally happened LESS THAN SIX MONTHS AGO!

I don’t care if they’re “kids”. When I was in high school, I knew that that symbol was wrong. Some of the people in the pictures have apparently already graduated, so they’re adults.

Same thing with the white Alabama high schoolers trying to be “edgy” on Snapchat saying the N word and saying Jews and black people should die.

In what world is that funny? This shit isn’t cute.
